Drinking tea reduces ovarian cancer risk
Women who drink a cup of tea a day are less likely to contract ovarian cancer, according to a new study.Researchers from the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Australia found that consuming just one cup each day reduced the risk of the disease by ten per cent.
During the study, almost 2,800 women aged between 18 and 79 were questioned about their diet and lifestyle, including their tea drinking habits.
The results also revealed those who had two to three cups a day were 13 per cent less likely to suffer from ovarian cancer.
In a report on their findings, the researchers said: "Our study provides some support for the hypothesis that tea consumption reduces the risk of ovarian cancer."
Research by scientists at the University of Illinois in Chigago, US, found that a healthy diet can boost the survival chances of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
